Coronaviruses (CoV) are a large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS-CoV) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS-CoV).

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is a new strain that was discovered in 2019 and has not been previously identified in humans.

Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people. Detailed investigations found that SARS-CoV was transmitted from civet cats to humans and MERS-CoV from dromedary camels to humans. Several known coronaviruses are circulating in animals that have not yet infected humans.

Common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death.

Standard recommendations to prevent infection spread include regular hand washing, covering mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing, thoroughly cooking meat and eggs. Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms of respiratory illness such as coughing and sneezing.

Practice self-care! You are the vehicle of self-care for so many. Take care of yourself by maintaining your own yoga practice, including asana, pranayama, and dhyana. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, eat nutritious foods, stay hydrated, and manage your stress.

Feel empowered to ask participants of yours to leave the room if they show symptoms of sickness, including coughing and sneezing. Consider not using hand-on assists, and perhaps modify your teaching to not incorporate the use of communal props.

Yoga prevent coronavirus or can help put up a brave fight against coronavirus thanks to its inherent powers of strengthening body, mind and spirit. Thus, in the fight against corona fitness yoga helps in bringing in benefits that are not just physical but mental, emotional, social and spiritual. However, with just yoga corona can never be defeated since it cannot prevent you from passing the virus to people who are more at risk through contact. Yoga can only help in ensuring that you don't get that sick and that you get cured very quickly. So it is essential to observe social distancing and practise yoga and meditation for coronavirus containment.
